Scenic Bicol is Luzon's Hotest Region

A favorite destination southeast of Manila is scenic Bicol. Over the years, travelers visiting this region have increased in number.

This vastly rain forest covered region of the Philippines has become a favorite itinerary for backpackers, and mountain trekkers.

Water sport activities in Camsur have also attracted more and more visitors locally and from around the world. Even people who love hot and spicy foods come here to sample the famous Laing and Bicol Express.

Experience the waves and the windy Pacific Ocean of Bagasbas beach in Camarines Norte. This beach has ideal waves for surfer beginners and has been a haven for kiteboarding enthusiasts.

There are also powdery white sand beaches on the adjacent islands of Bagasbas beach that are perfect for relaxation, swimming, sun bathing, and snorkeling.

Lorie enjoying it in Caramoan, Bicol

Caramoan in Camarines Sur is a fast rising favorite destination in Bicol. The rock formation, the pristine white sand beaches, and crystal blue waters are among the many attractions of this Philippine paradise. Island hopping is also a popular activity here as well as water sports like snorkeling, and scuba diving. Another place to see in Camarines Sur is the Camsur Watersport Complex (CWC) where wakeboarding, the only one in Bicol, is a popular activity, and for the mountaineers, Mount Isarog is a perfect location with two challenging trails that lead up to the summit for a spectacular view of the Bicol region.

In Sorsogon a favorite destination is the municipality of Donsol which is a popular tourist destination for the whale sharks locally known as butanding. Diving, snorkeling, and Whale Shark interaction are among the popular activities in this part of Sorsogon. Ever dreamed of swimming along side a whale shark? This gentle creature can give you an experience you will not forget. They are known to grow to 50 feet and over!

Albay still boasts of it's ever active Mayon Volcano. It's recent eruptions did not alter it's almost perfect cone shape feature. One of the most photographed volcano in the world, Mayon still lives and attracts thousands of visitors each month. The hot springs, the caves, the white sand beaches and the ruins are Albay's other treasures.

From Manila, it is accessible by either land or by air. The six provinces in Bicol are, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon. Masbate is a group of island on the southwest of the region while Catanduanes is another island province that is on the east.
